Is your To-Do List more like To-Didn’t?

Sep 10, 2021

Raise your hand if you ever move tasks from one day’s to-do list to the next day. And then the next day. And the next and the next and  . . .

Believe me, I’ve been there. Only when I’ve done this, it looks like I’ve papered my desk with aged sticky notes. *shudder*

Sometimes your To-Do list is more like a To-Didn’t list – an itemized account of all the things you haven’t completed.

When this happens, it’s a really great signal that you are not committed. When you find that you’re really stalled on something, completely lacking enthusiasm and motivation to work on it, ask yourself How important is this? How committed am I?

Are you committed enough to be accountable to yourself? We talked last week about accountability really being the commitment you make to yourself (check it out here).

So if you find that you’re just kicking a can down the road, your commitment level is very low. It’s time to just let it go.

Letting something go is not only okay, it’s actually really smart. You only have so much time, energy, money; so be sure to focus on your top priorities, not just the things you “should” be doing. That way you’ll stay truly (and easily) accountable to yourself.

The first step to amplifying your life is simplifying your day.
