Small triumphs

Feb 07, 2018

Wouldn’t it be great if we could quickly and easily move from point A to point Z when we’re working on a new goal? Some days it takes all you’ve got to keep up with the losers. Other days unfold so beautifully that they seem scripted by an award-winning screenwriter.

Is your life filled with big, beautiful, glorious victories on a regular basis?Probably not. I know mine isn’t. Which is why it’s important to find the joy in the small triumphs that happen each and every day, especially as you work on a new goal.

What’s a small triumph? This morning I made a phone call rather than hide behind email to have a necessary conversation. I stretched out of my comfort zone and accomplished what I needed to.

Other small triumphs:

  • asking for help
  • tackling that one to-do item
  • walking up the stairs instead of using the elevator
  • stopping at two cookies
  • taking a deep breath (or seven) instead of yelling at the car in front of you
Spend a minute today thinking about your small triumphs. I guarantee there’s at least one. They all add up to one big glorious victory in the end.
The first step to amplifying your life is simplifying your day.
