What I’m choosing in 2019

Jan 02, 2019

As I write this, I’m straddling the line between 2018 and 2019. It’s that magical time with the flurry of the holidays behind us and all the possibilities of the new year ahead of us. To me, it feels like looking in the windows of a glorious department store filled with anything we could ever want. We just have to choose and everything we point to is ours.

So what to choose in 2019?

Specifics
In addition to setting goals of how I want to be, I’m setting very specific business goals. It may come as a surprise that I haven’t done this in a little while. Instead, I’ve visualized how I want to feel, who I want to work with, the kind of work I want to do, etc. I’m going to add a layer of hard numbers to this, which is going to help me have an amazing business year.

Discomfort
I’m a girl who looooooves comfort. Loves. It. When traveling, I’m the one on the plane essentially feathering her nest with a cashmere wrap, big bottle of water, slippers, headphones, a good book, and a chocolate bar.

This year, I decided to fling myself out of my comfort zone into new territory of changing my coaching methodology. You know what happened? I became an even better coach through some intensive training I completed. I’m able to connect more deeply with my clients as I support them on their path to success.

The nice surprise is I’m becoming more comfortable being uncomfortable. Lots of beautiful new things are happening as a result.

Support
Every success I’ve ever had is because I’ve had wonderful support. It’s not always easy for me to ask for help – I’m pretty sure my first words were “I can do it myself!” But when I let others help me, I soar.

Support for me and my business will continue to be my coaches and a mastermind coaching group. They help me dream bigger than I would on my own and keep me accountable and on-track.

Gratitude
I’ll let you in on a little secret: I have a celebration dance I do when I gain a new client. While you’ll never (ever) see a video of it, I can teach you the song: Thank you! More please! Thank you! More please!

The always-fabulous Jen Sincero taught me that the universe loves to reward the grateful. So when I sing my thank you, I always ask for more too.

Last week, I gratefully accepted a new private coaching client and did my dance. After thanking the universe and asking for more, I received an email that I had a new participant in my mastermind coaching group. Thank you! More please!
