Give the Universe a task list

Apr 14, 2022

In my retreats, we do a lot of strategizing and planning. That leads to mapping out the action steps we’ll take so that our plans come true and we achieve our goals. Everyone walks out with clear priorities and a plan with specific tasks to make those priorities happen.

Here’s where I add a twist: we also give the Universe a task list

Why? Because the Universe (or Spirit or God or Source or whatever you like to call it) is infinitely powerful and who doesn’t want a total power player on their team? I know I do!

So, what kinds of tasks can we ask the Universe to handle? I like to delegate outcomes. On my side of the list, I add all of the action & behavior that I’m fully in control of, that I know supports the goals I have. On the Universe’s side of the list, I add the outcomes I’d like to have happen.

You can only control the action you take. You can’t really control what happens as a result of that action. A great example is having a specific revenue goal. If you think about it, the only way you can directly make that happen is to reach into someone’s wallet and pull out their money. Probably not how you do business, right?

Instead, list out all of the tasks you CAN do in order to make your revenue goal. Things like: implement consistent marketing, spend time meeting new people, make offers to ideal clients, price your offerings well and be open to possibility. You can absolutely do those things.

You can then ask the Universe to deliver ideal outcomes to you. Outcomes like: having your ideal clients respond to you, allowing you to recognize great opportunities, and, yes, a specific revenue result.

Try drawing this out on a big sheet of paper with different colored markers. When you’re satisfied with the result, hang it where you can see it daily. Not only will it remind you of what you’ll do, it’ll reinforce that the Universe is on your team. Bazaam!
