Out of the blue!

It happened again this week.
I’m in a coaching session with a client and she tells me about a new client she just landed. It’s exactly the type of work she recently identified as an ideal project, with a lovely person who’s willing to pay her rates. “It just happened out of the blue,” she said happily.
Here’s a secret: It’s never just out of the blue.
Sure, it may feel that way, and I hear some variation of this from my clients all of the time.
But here’s another secret: we are making these wins happen.
When I work with my clients, we do a lot of discovery to understand where they are now and where they want to go. I ask questions that help them determine exactly what they want to do, how they want to be and what they want to have (as well what they don’t).
That sets them on their pathway. We keep talking, clarifying, identifying next steps and taking action.
As a result, the wheels turn. Momentum is gained. Success invites itself in and makes itself at home.
All of these things may not feel like much at the time. But they’re why we get calls “out of the blue” with exactly what we want. It’s a magic we’re creating for ourselves.
I tell my clients: “Don’t be surprised by your success.” Everything we want is very close by, waiting for us to make it happen.
