Participate in your dreams (relentlessly)

🌟You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestation of your own blessings. 🌟

When I read this quote by Liz Gilbert, I was immediately captivated by it. So captivated that I’ve made it a daily alarm to remind myself to relentlessly participate in my own dreams. 

Just after reading this, I got a nice long message from a friend of mine who’s currently living her dream. K and I met on the Camino a couple of years ago and became fast friends. She had a dream to return to the Camino as a hospitalero, someone who volunteers to work on the Camino. Right this very moment, K and her husband are spending two weeks managing a donativo albergue - a place where pilgrims stay the night. 

K relentlessly pursued & participated in this dream. Once she had the idea, she told others about it (which helps make it real). She completed hospitalero training and got herself on the list. Even when life threw a whole mess of curveballs at her, she didn’t let go of her dream - she simply adjusted her plans and expectations. Now she’s welcoming weary pilgrims and offering them a comfortable experience at the end of a long walking day. I’m so excited for her and I know the guests she’s greeting each afternoon are having an even better experience.

Now I’m reminiscing about dreams I’ve achieved: moving to Boulder, leaving a corporate job, summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, meeting Keith Richards (hey, don’t laugh!) Every time, I relentlessly pursued & participated my dream through commitment and action.
